10th Anniversary Celebrations June 2013

We were incredibly lucky with the weather on 21st June and we had a lovely sunny afternoon celebrating our 10th Anniversary.  The occasion was marked with speeches from Ms Jackson, Head Teacher since the school opened, Roger Allam, a parent here and Olivier award winning actor; Nick Whitfield, the Director of Education for Richmond and Kingston and Rebecca Quayle, our Chair of Governors.

The string ensemble, choir and recorder group all performed very well led by Mrs Valero and accompanied by Mrs McKechnie.  We were delighted to welcome back some of the first and second cohort of pupils who were here at the first official opening of the school with David Attenborough.  The whole school and former pupils sung Believe and the Marshgate song.

A highlight of the afternoon was the official unveiling of the school mosaic with the two eldest pupils in the school Benedetta and Thomas from Year 6, Indi, Livio and Mattia the youngest girl and twin boys in Reception and our very first pupil Rosie Tendi.  The mosaic looks fantastic and is next to the entrance on Queens Road.  One drawing from each year group was selected by Ms Jackson from all the children’s drawings for the mosaic.   The mosaic was assembled by Your School Designs who are based in St Ives in Cornwall.

Afterwards the children and parents enjoyed a picnic in the school grounds.  Thank you to the working party of staff, parents and governors who helped organise the day.

Our thanks to Vicki Sharp www.vickisharpphotography.com and Angela Rankin for these wonderful photos.
