Ryan Buckingham is currently Head of Physics and Timetabler at St Paul’s School in Barnes. During his eight years in teaching, Ryan has also enjoyed teaching PSHE, coaching rugby and fulfilling numerous roles around the school. Prior to teaching Ryan worked for a large US investment bank for four years. Ryan studied physics for his undergraduate degree at Oxford University and then further perused his love of physics by completing a PhD as a research graduate on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, Geneva.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Marshgate community over the past few years. I feel honoured to be involved with such a successful school with such fantastic staff, students and parents. Lucinda Holmes studied History before going into the world of international advertising and Marketing. She is now a Management Consultant and Mentor working with Leaders across lots of different business sectors, not-for-profit enterprises and schools. She and her husband moved to the local area seven years ago. They have four adult children and when she’s not working or spending time with family and friends, Lucinda loves the theatre and the arts, cooking, reading and walking the dogs. Lucinda is delighted to be involved in schools again and loves the time she spends at Marshgate.
Jonathan Hurn is currently an Assistant Headteacher at Bolder Academy in Hounslow. This is his ninth year working within secondary schools in West London and he has recently moved into the borough. Jonathan’s current role involves leading on Sixth Form and Teaching and Learning across the school. He enjoys being part of the curriculum and progress committee where he can take part in hearing about the different teaching practices taking place at Marshgate and the impact these have.
Rebecca Mathews has been a Parent Governor since September 2022. She has three children who all went to Marshgate, the youngest of whom is still a current pupil. Rebecca works as an employment lawyer, advising employees and companies on a wide range of employment and HR issues from unfair dismissal and redundancies to contract reviews. Rebecca studied law at Cambridge University. In her spare-time she enjoys going to music concerts and festivals, pilates and spending time with her young family. Rebecca is really enjoying getting to know the school and its staff and students from a different perspective.
Sam Jeffrey has been a member of staff at Marshgate for the last six years and became a staff governor three years ago. He is currently SENCO and SEMH lead alongside being the Early Years lead. Sam currently sits on the Children Families and Communities committee. Sam's role as staff governor is to offer insight into the day-to-day life of Marshgate and provide other members of the governing board with an overview of what staff members and pupils experience on a daily basis. "I really value the opportunity to sit on the governing board as a staff governor. It gives me a great insight into how the school is run and how decisions are made at a governing body level. I feel very privileged to be able to represent the staff at Marshgate in this way”.
