What a brilliant half term of sport for Marshgate!

The headlines for sport were grabbed by the basketball and the netball teams. The Year 5/6 basketball team secured the cup for the East Richmond Borough Competition and will now go into the summer borough finals to compete for the chance to represent Richmond in the London Youth Games. To follow that up, on Wednesday, the Year 5/6 team succeeded in winning the borough tournament - first out of 34 teams! They will now compete for Richmond Borough in the London Youth Games, at Crystal Palace, in March.

Please see the February newsletter for a full report and the Sports Desk page on the website for the children's latest write-ups and for the link to the tables for the borough leagues.

  • Harvest donations

    Thu 20 Oct 2016

After the half term holiday the children will be learning about Harvest and giving thanks for all that Harvest brings. 4G will also be celebrating Harvest in their class assembly on Friday 4th November so we would like to begin collecting donations of non-perishable foods for a whole school Harvest table. Tinned/canned foods and dry pasta and rice are well received and donations of 'Bag for Life' bags are also needed to bag up the food once it has been gathered.

The food will be donated to Shelter, a charity who support people who are most in need in our local area. If there are any parents who could help bag up the food on Wednesday 9th November after morning drop off, please let the office know. One parent is also needed to drop the food off at the Shelter offices in Twickenham. It will require a large car boot as there is usually at least 20 bags of food. Again, please let the office know.

Please could pupils bring in the donations after half term and give them to their class teachers.

    With thanks.

    Mrs Jerwood

  • Google search on school website

    Mon 06 Jun 2016

Following feedback from the recent Communications Survey we have now added a Google Search function on our website.  This will enable you to search within the Marshgate website for any subject.  However, please note it will bookmark anything with the key search word you use.  For example, Computing currently brings up 245 search results and Mathematics 245 search results.

We welcome feedback from the community, so please do let us know what you think about this new function.  You can email your feedback to parents@marshgate.richmond.sch.uk

    Thank you.

  • Linking the school calendar to your calendar

    Wed 16 Dec 2015

A new feature of the school’s website allows you to subscribe to events from the school calendar so that they download into your own personal calendar on your mobile phone, tablet or computer.

All you need to do is visit the calendar on the school website and click the link called ‘Link the school events to your personal calendar’. You can then choose from three options: to add to your default calendar (for example, on an iPhone it will go to the iPhone calendar); to add it to your Google calendar; or input it to your calendar programme of choice.

    Things to know:

    •               As Marshgate edits the calendar, the updates will appear automatically in your calendar (the time that this takes to happen will depend on your calendar programme).

    •               You cannot edit the events in the school calendar.

    •               All events will pull through in one colour only, not the colours set by the school.

    •               You can name the calendar and choose how often to receive updates (we recommend you set this to as often as possible).

    •               You can unsubscribe via your own calendar at any time.

If you have any questions or feedback, please let the school office know and we can forward them to the school’s website provider.

Thank you to everyone who brought in donations for the Syrian refugees today as part of the Samaras Aid Appeal  (http://www.samarasaidappeal.org.
